Bios

Nikki Flaming

Nikki Flaming has been a hairstylist for the last 12 years, nine of which have been in New York City. After working at one salon in Manhattan she was looking for a more relaxed atmosphere and found herself in a salon in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. After three years she ventured out on her own and five years later, Pelo was created. With not only the customer but the stylist in mind, Pelo offers a welcoming environment that allows each individual hairdresser to create the business they envision for themselves. Happy hairdressers equals happy hair.

Luisa Vieira

Luisa has spent the last decade developing her easy going and creative approach to hair. As a co-creator and past co-owner of the “original” Beehive Salon in Brooklyn, as well as a dedicated stylist at Fringe Salon in the Lower East Side, Luisa is very happy to be back in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (where she has lived for 16 years) and working at PELO SALON (269 Manhattan ave./ corner of Ainslie st). She is best known by her legion of loyal clients. From curly locks (such as hers) to fun or natural, fashionable haircolor and long lasting haircuts, Luisa makes sure you will leave with a smile on your face. People gravitate to her for she pays extra attention to your hair needs. She also loves doing special events/period hair styles. Please book in advance as Luisa ‘s schedule fills very quickly.

Jessica Noonan

Jessica brings over twenty years of experience, as a hair stylist and colorist, to Pelo Salon. She began her professional training at the Aveda Institute for Cosmetology in Minneapolis, completing their program in 1988, as a teenager. Jessica went on to apprentice at Vidal Sassoon in Chicago, specializing then in haircutting.

Wanting more, she came to NYC in 1992, landed a position at John Dellaria, Soho, and trained in Pyrimetrics hair design, and completed the colorist training with Jo Blackwell, now owner of Dop Dop Salon in Soho.

Jessica was a Senior Stylist and Education Director at the Beehive Salon, when it was over on Lorimer. She has been working independently for the last few years.

“My love affair with hair began as a child, first experimenting on Barbie, and then my own hair with my mom’s pinking shears. In middle school, armed with a clipper, I began shaving mohawks on friends, and more experimental cuts and colors on myself.”

“I went to Minneapolis College of Art and Design for a couple of semesters while still in high school, and figured out that what I loved was color theory and art history. I bring both of these passions with me to work every day, and I still love researching all things vintage, hair, fashion, art, and design. My style is classic hair with a modern presence.”

Kelsey Reimbold

Kelsey has had a passion for hair since she was a little girl.  Growing up in a small artist’s community in rural New Jersey, she was surrounded with a bohemian culture that promoted creativity.  Since leaving her comfortable bubble in NJ, Kelsey has worked with some of the top indie hairstylists in New York City.  She has styled hair for movies, magazine shoots, fashion shows, and her loyal clients.  Kelsey’s laid-back demeanor and eagerness to please insures that each client leaves with exactly what they wanted.  Her style ranges from sweet and natural looks, to extreme edgy looks and everything in between!
